In order to have a productive lesson, you and your child must at least have some basic understanding of the Rubik’s Cube before the Zoom Meeting session. So, here’s our suggestion:
1. Watch the video below: "Rubik’s Tutorial” to understand the terms commonly used and rotation algorithm.
2. Please kindly practice the 5 tutorials (given in the video). These are the 5 algorithms that you will use in solving the Rubik’s cube. On Saturday, our focus will be to guide you on how to apply these 5 algorithms to solve the Rubik’s cube. So, it is important that you and your child can rotate correctly, i.e. your child must at least know what to do when we say U or R’ or B or L’ or D etc.
3. Try to memorize the formula of the algorithm. To do that, just keep saying out the formula when you practice. If your child can succeed in this (before the meeting), he/she should be able to solve the Rubik’s Cube on his own, right away after our zoom-meeting.
We are committed to help each and every participant succeed in solving the Rubik’s cube. To do that, we will continue to provide guidance after the zoom-meeting until you and your child can solve the Rubik’s cube.
Here’s what we will do (for our participant only): 1. Record the video of your child trying to solve the Rubik’s cube (until the step where he can’t solve) 2. Send the video to us via Facebook Message, and tell us what help is needed 3. We will do a video to explain and provide instructions to guide you. 4. We will send the reply video to you within 48 hours.
Like everything else in life, you need to keep doing and keep practicing to be good. There is no shortcut. After a few days of practice (about 1 hour a day), you should be able to memorize all the algorithm and solve without looking at notes or videos.
Thank You.
