What do you get from learning piano

Jason and Jonnie have shown vast improvement over the last 1 year of learning piano.

What I've learned and what works:

  1. Having a very good piano teacher is definitely the most important factor. A teacher with positive and growth mindset. One who believes in your child’s capability.

  2. Make learning music more meaningful and purposeful by finding opportunities for them to share their music. Concert, performances in school, or even sharing to family and friends on social media platform always bring great joy for my kids.

  3. When they love sharing, they will want to record every single song that they have learned. It now becomes a habit for us. And the best part is you don't have to ask them to practice anymore. Just put on the camera and they will play a few times to get a good recording. Not good enough, try a few more times the next day. For them, it's also like playing games - when they managed to get a good recording, it means they have completed the challenge and successfully unlock to the next level.

  4. Spare time to listen and enjoy the song that you have recorded. I usually play back and listen while sitting next to them. All kids love being admired by their mummy!

  5. When they feel they are good, they will eventually turn out be good
