[Importance of videos: Forming stories when we connect the dots]
On September last year, Jason told us that he wanted to be a school prefect. He had to submit a resume to his teacher. I said great. I took the opportunity to explain to him my understanding on a resume.
These were some of the questions I used to guide him:-
1. Do you know what your teachers expect from Prefects? He listed a few but particularly, he was truly keen on this: He said school wants prefects to be ambassadors and lead the visitors, potential pupils and parents for school tours.
2. When you lead the tour, what are you going to say to the visitors? Jason said that he can promote the school’s #amazinglearning to respective parents.
3. How are you going to persuade your teachers that you are capable of promoting the #amazinglearning and convince parents to join Tenby?
4. While thinking, we looked at some of the photos / videos of Jason in school. He had many opportunities to speak and perform role plays in school. Then I asked...
5. Have you gained benefits from Tenby’s #amazinglearning in school? Absolutely! Then let’s make a video to show what you have gained from school’s amazing learning. Isn’t that the best way to promote the school and impress your interviewers?
